More and more, savvy vacationers research their options on the Web, yet only 17 percent of North Americans have ever taken a cruise. Carnival turned to Avenue A | Razorfish, which designed funshipisland.com, a virtual world that recreates a Carnival Cruise online. Visitors get an immersive, firsthand experience of a cruise, from the serenity of a spa to the thrills and chills of an onboard water park. The site drew more than 1 million visitors and 100 million impressions in its first four months.
